In this role the Qualification Engineer owns and drives all the qualification documents requirements, creating and modifying the documents as per different Aircraft Programs and customer requirements. Providing technical documentation support, and proactively manage tasks to meet schedule and budget goals. Also, actively participate in a team environment, working with various lighting SBU qualification teams to perform projects.

Position: Lead Engineer (P3)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review and understand product specifications, design and certification requirements, and scope of work.
  • Collaborate with Design engineering, New Product Introduction, and Operational Support Engineering on design and certification requirements.
  • Perform effort/duration estimates for tasks required to satisfy requirements.
  • Capable of analyzing circuits, electrical block diagrams, component technical specifications,
  • Creating & Reviewing qualification documents such as Qualification Test Plan (QTP), Qualification Test Procedure (QTPR),Qualification Test Reports (QTR) and Similarity Analysis Reports.
  • Collaborate with Design engineering, New Product Introduction, and Operational Support Engineering on design and certification requirements.
  •  Analyzing circuits, electrical block diagrams, component technical specifications,
  •  Should be able to make detailed comparison of DO 160, Airbus and Boeing standards & impact of test parameters.
  • Understanding the requirements and creating qualification test procedures and defining pass/Fail for the tests.
  • Experience in product design and meeting DO -160 , Airbus and Boeing  and other aerospace customer’s specific standards
  • Performing documentation and coordination of qualification/certification activities for Aircraft lighting products.
  • Reviewing customer requirements for qualification testing and perform the update on qualification/certification document templates,testing capabilities
  • Conducting regular project review meeting with SBU and perform the required actions.
  • Coordinating with qualification test labs and testing focal to perform the testing.
  • Communicating and coordinating with the supplier across the globe to receive the quotations to perform critical qualification testing.
  • Coordinating with SBU and resolving the qualification related queries for the projects.
  • Creation of qualification documentation for customer like Airbus, Boeing and other Aircraft manufacturers.
  • Excellent multi-tasking capability to support qualification/certification details for multiple projects at a time.
  • Working closely with project managers, engineers and designers in understanding the workflow, design process, budgets and deadlines.
  • Ensuring compliance with customer, industry, company and regulatory requirements.
  • Providing opportunities to discuss the qualification requirements in details with experienced SBU qualification focal and implementing in the projects.
  • Conducting and participating in detailed design reviews with SBU qualification team and various project design team.
  • Actively participate in a team environment, working with qualification and design teams to develop comprehensive qualification test plans and addressing the issues.
  • Executing Projects/tasks independently and taking self-initiatives to drive and achieve the project requirements.
  • Experience in DO-160, Photometric and HALT testing processes.
  • Expert in problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Expert in Microsoft Office Tools (Primarily in MS-Word and MS-Excel)
  • Expert in creating Markup for the changes required in the document.
  • Technical guidance to the junior engineers on qualification document creation and modification.
  • Must be ready for travel to abroad on need basis

Basic Qualifications:

  • 6-8 years of relevant Industry experience with experience in qualification documentation
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/Power Electronics/Electronics and Communication Engineering
  • 3-4 Years’ experience in Electrical qualification testing as per DO 160

Primary Skills:

Expert in creating qualification documents for aircraft lighting products

Detailed understanding on the functionality of different lights and power supply used in lighting products.

DO 160 qualification testing.

Product design and meeting DO -160, Airbus , Boeing  and other aerospace customer specific standards

EMI/EMC Testing, Power Input, Direct/Indirect lightning testing
