Job Purpose

Responsible for monitoring the progress and follow up of repair/ overhaul of components at the repairers’ facilities, in order to ensure completion of the repair/ overhaul tasks in the optimum cost effective way, and as per the RTAT (repair turn around time). Effectively follow up with the vendors in respect of (a) RTAT overdue items, and (b) items required urgently (within the RTAT) in order to get such components after repair to meet the Nil stock situation and/or support the immediate maintenance requirements.

Job Outline: – Check all new Repair Orders received, on a day to day basis, for their work content, warranty applicability and modification and filed, in order to facilitate monitoring and follow up. – Continuously check part criticality (Nil stock/AOG) and follow-up with vendors on suitable repair arrangements to assure remedy and control over Nil stock/ AOG. –

Scrutinise to ascertain correctness of all Repairs Cost Estimates/ Quotes against the standard costs, Work-scope, actuals from the previous ROs, warranty and raise Repair Evaluation Form in order for action as per limits/ conditions specified below:

Normal repairs with no Warranty applicability: ————————————————————————- Component Repair Officer : approve ROs up to AED 5,000 per RO Component Repair Engineer : approve ROs from AED 5,000 – 25,000 per RO Manager Engineering Repair : approve ROs above AED 25,000 – 50,000 per RO Senior Management : approve ROs above AED 50,000 With Warranty applicability: ——————————————-

All warranty repair orders should be reviewed and evaluated for charges and warranty disposal before being forwarded to the Repair Engineer for final disposal.

– Scrutinise all Repair Invoices for their correctness (Work-scope, initial quotations and any agreed deviations during the repair process), and forward as per LOA mentioned above.

– Follow up with Dispatch Section for all overdue repair orders for which acknowledgement has not been received and ensure that the acknowledgement is obtained and further necessary action on the order taken. – Liaison/Follow up With Repair Agencies

– Normal Cases: These are Non-Critical items and they may not affect the maintenance/operational requirements if the item is returned with RTAT+14 days. Repair Co-ordinators enquire through maul on an average twice per RO as per schedule dates, to ensure the job is progressing normally and as per RTAT

. – Critical shortage/ Nil-stock items (a) at the time of RO, (b) during the RTAT period, (c) AOG Situations and (d) overdue items not received by RTAT + 14 days. Repair Co-ordinators identify and follow up with Repair Agencies for their urgent and definitive confirmation on the delivery date for the repaired items in order to ensure their availability of those components to meet / manage critical situations. – Raise scrap notes for components declared as irreparable or beyond economic repair (BER), as instructed by Repair Engineer. – Assist Repair Engineer in his review of the documents, and physical inspection of unserviceable components and parts. – Perform such of the other clerical / batch process tasks, as follows. a) Data entry to update Repair Order status details in EMPACS for all concerned to track process, overdue/ performance monitoring of vendors, b) Connecting papers/ files/ previous links to cases in Stores Discrepancy Report, Daily Shortage List etc. c) Opening and maintaining files (hard copy) – one per RO, and Repair Agency d) Clearance of stores discrepancy reports. e) Data extract for periodic reports generation. f) Preparing case papers, statistical statements and reports g) Handling general correspondence (receipt, distribution and dispatch) within and inter office.

Qualifications & Experience

Engineering.Materials & Stores : 5+ Years Qualifications and Experience: Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) : – Industry experience in supply chain management, Warehouse and Logistics, Repairs Management, Material Planning/Support & Inventory Control, Technical Purchasing or any other support services.  – Candidates with higher Technical education, with less experience may be considered.  – Preference will be given to personal with experience in an airline or third party maintenance base however consideration will also be given to candidates with good educational background with experience in above functions from other fields involving high value, technically complex products.  – The knowledge of the processes of Repairs, Reliability, Inventory control, Material Planning, Modification Control etc., in an Airline/MRO (maintenance & repair organisation) is preferred.  – Computer literacy in MS Windows Excel spread sheets and MS Word Processing.
