Job Description

 60% Maintenance Management

• Responsible for the accomplishment of all major repairs and alterations in accordance with manufacturer and GACA approved data.

• Ensure the aircraft maintenance records contain all of the current information that relates to the respective aircraft.

• Ensure that maintenance decisions, inspections, and actions are communicated and coordinated with Maintenance Supervisors and Flight Operations personnel to maximize aircraft availability and ensure the maintenance actions are accomplished efficiently and on time.

• Oversee the orderly, timely, and efficient planning of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities.

• Initiate reports pertaining to any occurrence or failure/malfunction or defect in maintenance as required by GACA and CAACI.

• Maintain a good working relationship with vendors, service providers, the GACA, and other authorities.

• Perform other tasks as directed by the Accountable Manager.

• May delegate any duties to a qualified person as necessary. However, such delegation does not relieve him of his overall responsibilities.

 

20% Policies and Procedures

• Administer and control the timely delivery of safe, airworthy aircraft that meet legal requirements of GACA/FARs, and flynas standards for safety and maintenance. Also responsible for planning and reviewing all maintenance policies and procedures and overseeing their implementation.

• Evaluate and review company policies, practices, and procedures to develop and maintain high personnel morale and a cost-effective operation.
• Overall responsible person for the Tool Calibration Program as per company procedures.

• Directs and control the maintenance of flynas maintained aircraft through company facilities or contract agencies in accordance with approved procedures.

20% Budgeting and cost control

• Managing budgets.

Job Requirements

Knowledge and Experience

• 11- 15 years related experience

• Experience in a position responsible for returning aircraft to service.

• Experience in Maintaining large aircraft with 10 or more passenger seats, including at the time of appointment as director of maintenance, experience in maintaining the same category and class of aircraft as the certificate holder uses; or

• Experience in repairing aircraft in a certificated airframe repair station rated to maintain aircraft in the same category and class of aircraft as the certificate holder uses.

• Knowledge of Aviation regulations, company policies, and standards.

Education and Certifications

• Master / Ph.D. Degree

• GACA A & P License or FAA License or EASA

• GACA recognized Airman Certificate.

• Certificate in airframe and power plant ratings.

• SMS Course.
