Job Description Summary

GE Aviation, a robotics and automation research center located in Bromont, has a worldwide mandate to develop and subsequently introduce in the various aircraft engine component factories manufacturing processes for components on robotic and automated platforms.

As a member of the Robotics Center, you will provide the necessary technical assistance to deliver automation, robotization and manufacturing process improvement projects in highly technological and diverse fields.

Job Description

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Participate in feasibility studies and develop concepts;
  • Develop and optimize the automation of robotic manufacturing processes for different factories by innovating in manufacturing and automation in order to increase the competitiveness of the processes;
  • Provide technical support from start to finish of projects;
  • Participate in start-up, testing and problem solving in the workshop and with customers;
  • Travel abroad according to clients and needs (~ 20%);
  • Document SR&ED projects.

MAIN QUALIFICATIONS : (Education, experience, skills):

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in automated production engineering, mechanics, robotics or other related specialization;
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the design and manufacture of machines, automated systems with or without robotics, in the context of manufacturing processes;
  • Demonstrate technical leadership;
  • Ability to influence colleagues towards a concerted solution;
  • Recognized for fostering collaboration and teamwork;
  • Have an excellent analytical and synthetic mind as well as a developed sense of organization;
  • Resourceful, open-minded and skilled in applied problem solving;
  • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills (French / English);
  • Be a member of the OIQ

Will be considered an asset:

  • Have experience in the aeronautics sector and in research and development
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in programming Fanuc robots and the HandlingPRO simulator;
  • Master the technical aspects of metrology, geometric tolerancing and statistics (Six Sigma);
  • Knowledge of machine vision;
  • Knowledge of programming in C #;
  • Knowledge of operator interface programming (HMI);
  • Knowledge of the design of electrical circuits of machines
  • Knowledge of transformation of aeronautical alloys or composites.
