Job Description Summary

GE Aviation, Engine Services – Singapore has established an Automation and Robotics Centre of Excellence (COE) to develop automation and robotics solutions. The Robotics Engineer will play a critical role in the COE developing, building and implementing robotic and automation systems that are capable of performing visual or dimensional inspection, polishing, grinding, spraying, or welding etc for repairing aircraft engine components.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Work with end-users to develop specifications for proposed robotic or automated systems.
  • Write and troubleshoot robotic and PLC programming.
  • Design robotic or automated systems to meet business needs, including selection of components and sub-systems.
  • Fabricate, test and install robotic systems in GE Aviation facilities.
  • Work with external vendors and system integrators as required.
  • Ensure that automated systems developed by the COE meet applicable safety and regulatory standard Generate and outline project schedule to keep all stakeholders up-to-date.
  • Conduct research on material removers, vision and sensor systems, adaptive machining and other technologies.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Diploma holders with proven track record may also be considered.
  • At least 3 years experience in development of robotics (Fanuc/ABB) and design automated systems in production shop floor environment.
  • Familiar with HMI & PLC programming In-depth knowledge of mechanical design and machine programming or vision systems would be a plus.
  • Prepared to be hands-on and work along with Engineers and Technicians.
  • Strong project management and communication skills.
