About your Job:

As a Senior Cost Control Officer, you will manage   the  day-to-day  administration  of  the  cost  control  by ensuring  deadlines   are  met  and   work   is performed  in  the most efficient manner. 

You will ensure all the departmental routine processes and procedures are in line with the company’s guidelines. 

You will also ensure that all work produced by all the subordinates are accurate, timely, relevant and reliable.

2.   ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Operational

You will:

•Manage and ensure an effective cost control administration.

•Review and assist as and when necessary and requested by insurance all insurance claims relating         to hull damage and technical spare parts.

•Monitor, analyze the Technical department expenses, revenue and play a part in preparation of Technical budget.

•Manage, and whenever necessary, assist with the preparation of all ground handling agreements.

•Manage   the   preparation   and   documentation    on a timely   basis of all disputed   items.   Ensure   that procedures are in place to ensure that all disputed items are cleared in a timely and efficient manner.

•Provide an analysis of Technical maintenance cost benchmark.

•Ensure that invoices are reviewed approved and paid in accordance with the contractual commitment.

•Prepare the management monthly KPI report for the Technical Department.

•Analyze  and  evaluate the Technical  monthly  expenditures  and  submit  reports  with  recommendations  to management.

•Participate in Contracts negotiation and preparation of the RFT related to Technical.

•Assist  with  the  preparation  of the Annual  Budget  by drawing  all necessary  reports  from the various  MIS systems.

•Manage    the    receipt,    registration     and    verification     of   all    invoices    related    to    the    Technical department other than  invoices  related  to components  repair and  material  purchasing  to  insure  that all invoices  are  as  per  the  agreed  terms  and  conditions  as  laid  down  in  the  signed  agreements  and  as supported  by the signed work package  in consultation with Lead Engineer Cost Control.

•Ensure all Contractual incentives and credit related to Technical Department are received and recorded in Credit Management System.

•Ensure the Technical credit/Income report is circulated every month to the management.

•Finalize all the contractual escalations and regularize.

•Provide an analysis of Technical maintenance cost benchmark.

•Assist the Lead Manager in any other duties as required

Management & Leadership

•Establish the department or teams objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives.

•Regularly  evaluate   the  department  or  teams  objectives,   plans,  procedures   and  practices,  and  makes appropriate changes  if needed.

•Oversee and supervise employees.  Direct daily activities, recruit, train, develop and discipline to ensure a high standard of service delivery.About you:

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Qualifications:

Essential

•     Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

Preferred

•     Bachelor Degree in Finance / Accounting / Commerce / Aircraft Maintenance.

 Previous Experience:

Essential

•Expert – minimum 7 years of job-related experience required

•Good exposure to aircraft Maintenance with a minimum of 5 years of working experience.

Two (2) years financial experience.

Preferred

•Four (4) years financial aviation experience or with a technical/engineering background

•Aircraft License Engineer, Aeronautical Engineer.

•Held a position in an airline’s Finance and Technical Inventories, functions or equivalent.

Job Specific Skills:

Essential

  • Minimum   2 years   aviation   experience   with an extensive   and thorough   operational   knowledge of a Technical MRO operation.
  • Aircraft   Records,   Contracts   and   Planning   Department   and   Line   Station   Operation   will   be   highly advantageous.
  • Excellent verbal/written communications at higher levels.
  • Good contract analytical skills.
  • Excellent ability to focus on detail.
  • Managerial skills – Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow.  Strong mentoring and coaching skills.
  • Ability to train and develop subordinate’s skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members.
  • Preferred
  • Meeting  and  achieving  targets,  maintaining confidentiality,  trustworthy   and  proactive  with  high  level  of integrity
  • Computer literate with good skills in  MS Word and Excel
